What is Cerium (IV) Sulphate? Also called ceric sulphate, it is an inorganic compound. It exists as the anhydrous salt Ce(SO4)2 as well as a few hydrated forms: Ce(SO4)2(H2O)x, with x equal to 4, 8, or 12. These salts are yellow to yellow/orange solids that are moderately soluble in water and dilute acids. Its neutral solutions slowly decompose, depositing the light yellow oxide CeO2. Solutions of ceric sulfate have a strong yellow color. The tetrahydrate loses water when heated to 180-200 °C.

Consistent Quality: We source only high-quality Cerium (IV) Sulphate, ensuring consistent and reliable performance in both laboratory and industrial applications.

Shipped from Manchester, UK Facility: Sourced and packaged in secure, chemical-resistant containers to guarantee safe handling during transport.

Frequent Uses

Analytical Reagent
Acts as a strong oxidising agent and is utilised in redox titrations to determine the concentration of reducing agents.

Catalysis
Employed to catalyse several organic reactions, including the oxidation of secondary alcohols to ketones and the direct sulphonation of methane.

Nanoparticle Synthesis
It is a reactant in the preparation of spherical CeO2 nanoparticles, which have applications in reactions like NO reductions.

Glass Manufacturing
Employed as a colour developer for aniline black and in the production of certain coloured and optical glass materials.

Alloy Production
Can be added to aluminium alloys to improve their corrosion resistance.
