What is Copper (I) Oxide? It is the inorganic compound with the formula Cu2O. It is one of the principal oxides of copper, the other being copper(II) oxide or cupric oxide (CuO). The compound can appear either yellow or red, depending on the size of the particles. Cuprous oxide is found as the mineral cuprite. It is a component of some antifouling paints, and has other applications including some that exploit its property as a semiconductor.

Consistent Quality: We provide only high-quality Copper (I) Oxide, ensuring reliable and consistent performance for all applications.

Shipped from UK Facility: Sourced and packaged in non-toxic, chemical-resistant containers to ensure safe handling and preserve product quality during transport.

Frequent Uses

Antifouling Paint
The dominant use of cuprous oxide is as a component of antifouling paint.

Pigments and Dyes
Also found in certain pigments and dyes due to its red hue.

Analytical Chemistry
Copper(I) oxide is also responsible for the pink colour in a positive Benedict's test.

Energy Research
Due to its properties as a semiconductor, cuprous oxide has been explored for use in solar panels.
