What is Ferric Ammonium Citrate, Green Powder? It is a green water-soluble powder or liquid with a variable composition, used in applications like food additives (E381), photography (cyanotype), and as in medicine and agriculture. It can be prepared from ferric hydroxide, citric acid, and ammonia. While it is used as a source of iron and can have some antiviral effects in research, its side effects can include gastrointestinal issues, a metallic taste, and darkened stools.
