What is Hexane? Hexane is an organic solvent with the molecular formula C6H14. It is a colourless liquid with a mild odour and is highly flammable. Hexane, Mixed Isomers 99% is a mixture of several isomers of the alkane, primarily n-hexane, and is commonly used as a solvent in various industrial processes. It is also known by alternate names such as n-Hexane, Hexane Isomers, and Industrial Hexane. Due to its low polarity, it is effective at dissolving nonpolar substances, such as oils, fats, and waxes.
