General

Iso-Hexane, also known as 2-methylpentane, is a branched-chain hydrocarbon with the molecular formula C6H14. It is a colourless liquid with a boiling point of approximately 60°C and a flash point of -15°C, making it highly flammable.

Iso-Hexane is a structural isomer of n-Hexane, which is a straight-chain hydrocarbon with the same molecular formula. As a result, Iso-Hexane has different physical and chemical properties than n-Hexane. For example, Iso-Hexane is more volatile than n-Hexane, meaning it evaporates more quickly.
