What is Kaolin Light? It's a hydrated aluminum silicate mineral, often found in clay-rich rocks. Kaolin is a layered silicate, composed of alternating layers of silica tetrahedra and alumina octahedra, linked together by oxygen atoms and hydrogen bonds. The chemical formula for kaolin, also known as kaolinite, is Al₂Si₂O₅(OH)₄

Consistent Quality: We provide only high-quality Kaolin Light, ensuring reliable and consistent performance for all applications.

Shipped from Manchester, UK Facility: Sourced and packaged in non-toxic, chemical-resistant containers to ensure safe handling and preserve product quality during transport.

Frequent Uses

Paper Production
For paper coatings it is used to enhance the gloss, brilliance, smoothness and receptability to inks; it can account for 25% of mass of the paper. As a paper filler it is used as a pulp extender, and to increase opacity; it can account for 15% of mass.

Ceramics
In whiteware ceramic bodies, kaolin can constitute up to 50% of the raw materials. In unfired bodies it contributes to the green strength, plasticity and rheological properties, such as the casting rate. During firing it reacts with other body components to form the crystal and glass phases.

Veterinary
Whilst being useful in the treatment diarrhoea and minor stomach problems in animals, it also acts as a digestive aid in stabilising and coating the digestive tract of horses, cattle, sheep, goats, dogs, and cats. Overall, this is used to benefit the digestive system.
