Standard Qualitative Filter Papers are used for low gravity, or quadrant-folded applications. They have a higher level of α- cellulose than other filter papers. This means that they will weaken when the papers are introduced to water. We do not recommend Standard Qualitative Filter Papers if wet handling or vacuum work is necessary. In routine quadrant-folded applications the underlying strength of standard (untreated) grades does not present an issue.
Grade 305: is a fast-filtering qualitative paper designed for the filtration of coarse particles and gelatinous precipitates, such as ferric, aluminium, and magnesium hydroxides. Its rapid flow characteristics make it ideal for air monitoring and gas filtration applications where high throughput is essential. Grade 305 is also used in the routine cleanup of insoluble liquids, including biological fluids and organic compounds.
Application: Gelatinous Precipitates, Air and Gas Monitoring, Biological Fluid Cleanup
Qualitative Analysis: Suitable for procedures aimed at identifying components in complex mixtures.
Fast Filtration Speed: Rapid flow makes it ideal for handling coarse or bulky precipitates efficiently.
Gelatinous Material Handling: Effective for difficult-to-filter substances like metal hydroxides.
Air and Gas Filtration: Frequently used in environmental labs for high-throughput air and gas monitoring.
Routine Cleanup Applications: Useful for filtering insoluble liquids such as biological and organic materials in general lab settings.
