What is Sodium Formate? It is a chemical compound with the formula HCOONa. It's the sodium salt of formic acid and is commonly used as a de-icer, in leather tanning, and as a food additive, among other applications. It appears as a white, deliquescent powder and is soluble in water, glycerol, and alcohol.
