Dyes and Pigments
It is a key building block in the synthesis of various azo dyes, which are widely used in the textile and food industries. It's also used in the production of pigments. 

Pharmaceutical
Serves as a crucial intermediate in the production of sulphonamides, a class of antibacterial drugs. 

Analytical Chemistry
Used in several analytical techniques. It forms diazonium compounds, which are useful in detecting nitrate and nitrite ions through diazonium coupling reactions.
