What is Vanadium (V) Oxide? Also known as vanadium pentoxide, with the chemical formula V₂O₅. It is a dark yellow solid, but can appear orange when freshly precipitated from an aqueous solution. It's a versatile compound with applications as an oxidising agent, catalyst, and in pigments and materials science.

Consistent Quality: We provide only high-quality Vanadium (V) Oxide, ensuring reliable and consistent performance for all applications.

Shipped from Manchester, UK Facility: Sourced and packaged in non-toxic, chemical-resistant containers to ensure safe handling and preserve product quality during transport.

Frequent Uses

Catalysts
V₂O₅ is a key catalyst in the production of sulphuric acid (via the contact process), as well as in the synthesis of maleic anhydride, phthalic anhydride, and other important chemicals.

Batteries
It's a crucial component in vanadium redox batteries, which are used for large-scale energy storage, particularly in renewable energy systems like wind farms. It's also used as a cathode material in lithium-ion batteries.

Thermal Imaging
Due to its high coefficient of thermal resistance, V₂O₅ is used as a detector material in bolometers and microbolometer arrays for thermal imaging.

Alloys
V₂O₅ is a precursor in the production of vanadium alloys, which are used in various applications like steel, aircraft engines, and nuclear technology.

Dyes and Colourants
It acts as a colourant in ceramics and glass, producing vibrant colors and enhancing durability. It's also used as a dye and mordant in dyeing and printing fabrics.
