What is Zinc Acetate Dihydrate? It is a salt which exists in the form of a white crystalline powder and is composed of zinc cations and acetate anions. This compound is widely used in laboratory settings and analytical chemistry due to its consistent purity, making it suitable for precise and reliable experimental results. Zinc Acetate Dihydrate is commonly employed as a reagent in various chemical reactions, including those involving the synthesis of organic compounds.

Consistent Quality: We provide only high-quality Zinc Acetate Dihydrate, ensuring reliable and consistent performance for all applications.

Shipped from Manchester, UK Facility: Sourced and packaged in non-toxic, chemical-resistant containers to ensure safe handling and preserve product quality during transport.

Frequent Uses

Medical
Used in formulations to treat zinc deficiency and also Wilson's disease, a genetic disorder where copper accumulates in the body. Zinc acetate can inhibit copper absorption, helping to manage the condition.

Chemical Synthesis
Serves as a valuable starting material for synthesising other zinc compounds like zinc oxide and zinc sulphate, which are used in various industries.

Catalysis
Acts as a catalyst in the production of polyesters, alkyds, and other synthetic fibers, speeding up the chemical reactions involved.

Analytical Chemistry
Used as a reagent in analytical chemistry for detecting and quantifying various metal ions.

Textiles
Acts as a mordant, helping to fix dyes onto natural fibers like wool and cotton, enhancing colourfastness.

Metal Work
Can be added to zinc plating baths to improve the quality of zinc coatings in electroplating. It is also a component in zinc-based coatings that protect steel surfaces from corrosion.
